Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
BTW, is this challenge just for this month or will it run throughout the year? I know the thread will be locked next month but just checking.

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
Well, re-read the first post of the thread. Maybe I didn't make it as clear as I though I did. Final test by 28 Feb. Locking a couple of days later. Sounds like just the month.
You are welcome to continue working on your chins throughout the year, and you are certainly welcome to report the results in the forum at any time. If you continue to increase by 10% each month for 12 months, you will increase your chins by... wait. This is like compound interest. Oscar? How much will he increase?

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
I did read the first post and of course realised this thread is only for the month. But I was unsure if then a new one would be created for march and so on.. i.e this the first month of a challenge that lasts 2013.Jungledoc wrote:Well, re-read the first post of the thread. Thanks for organising this
Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
We used to do more frequent challenges but this one has become an annual event.
I know the month isn't over but I hit my goal of 2 proper pullups with no back pain.

Re: Chinup Challenge, 2013
So I went in for my regular workout, and realized that because I'm going to be the vic... ah... subject of a medical procedure on Wednesday, and that the prep for it would ruin my Tuesday, and probably leave me washed out (literally) on Thursday, today was my last chance to test my rep for the challenge. But I was tired from an extra-long day of work (Monday is always busy, and 2 of my colleagues are away), so I even considered postponing the whole thing. Of course I could cut myself and everyone else some slack on the deadline (and probably will anyway), but I decided to try to get it in today. Today was scheduled to be a circuit of 5 chins/10 pushups/ farmer's walk. So I just did the max in place of the 5 chinups in the circuit. I was real happy to get 11, one more than my goal.

The end is near! Has anyone else tested their progress?

I'll try and get my target when I train back next week. It'll technically be out of the agreed time frame but meh.
I'm not too confident I'll get it to be honest, but I'll try.

I've done 3 PUs a couple of time now. I think I can call that the limit of this time.Jungledoc wrote:The end is near! Has anyone else tested their progress?

[email protected]+4 pounds
I realize that sounds like a victory, even if modest, but I was planning on gaining more weight than that. However the missus and I booked a trip to Vegas at the end of next month that includes a couple pool parties, so if I wanna see her in a bikini I can't be making my famous pulled pork every day.

For pulled pork recipes, see appropriate thread under "Diet and Nutrition". And let this be a lessen to any thread hijackers who might be lurking about--we will deal with you.
