Re: Random crap
"So Hoose, you're an advocate of the Biden Method?" - Jungledoc
I think he meant something more like this.
http://www.remington.com/en/products/fi ... round.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Whereas Biden referred specifically to a "double-barrel" shotgun.

Re: Random crap
@ stuward - I'd rather have a Saiga, if I were going to go that way.

Re: Random crap
PS) Today a guy at the gym said he hadn't done pull-ups since 5th grade, and called them the dumbest exercise he'd ever seen (He was doing cheating cable pull-downs with 110 lbs). He then walked over to the leg extension machine. I took it to mean he sucks at pull-ups.

He can't do even one!

Re: Random crap
Meet is on Sunday.
Just found out a Scottish legend will be competing (bench only). They made a short documentary about him, worth watching
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WjPhcntYKM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There's actually another unheard of legend, a guy of 62/63, who has been a powerlifter for decades, has done worlds level competitions in his day, still squats and pulls ~500lbs, and benches ~350, in the 183 / 83 kg weight class, and coaches a group of powerlifters in my area, one of which dominates british powerlifting and done his first worlds level meet in south america last year.
Exciting stuff.

this Sunday? That sucks! I'm working. For some reason I had it in my head it was a Saturday.KPj wrote:Meet is on Sunday.

Will you be taking videos? I like the idea of the other exrx forum members seeing what you look like. The knowledge of how ugly you are is too much for me to carry alone...
Seriously though, video your lifts if you can.
Re: Random crap
Everything has drawbacks. The shotgun, IMO, has the least for home defense.

You can practice with bird shot - load slugs and buckshot (I alternate) only for home defense.

I have 17 videos on my youtube channel lol. The one above is my last heavy DL session. I'll make sure there's videos of the competition, i'm just going to confirm who's coming to watch and i'll make someone take responsibility for it.

p.s i'm the white guy

Re: Random crap
Nice video. Where did you get the time machine? You took that video next month?

Re: Random crap
pfft, gym lifts are no good Kenny. I want psyched up, ammonia fuelled platform grinders
Re: Random crap
haha, I actually don't have any nose-torque for it.
My goal is to just to hit my (recent) best gym lifts only, on the plat form and all in the same day rather than in the gym. I want to feel like I had more in the tank, and get as many "good" lifts in as possible (hopefully 9/9).
The exception is maybe bench. Been training with a beat up shoulder I picked up boxing in Dec, which is really annoying the hell out of me. It's just coming a long for the ride, basically. Although, the flat footed style and pause really calls me out, so it's probably best. Struggle to strain whilst keeping my a$$ on the bench, although, I think i've got it now - just in time!
I see this competition as a part of my training for the next one in August. I'll know what i'm doing for that one and plan on going crazy at that one.
I basically have a 2 year plan for this. Been wanting to compete for so long, now that i'm finally here, i'm keeping my eye on the big picture. Anything is a PB on Sunday, ya know, as long as I don't bomb out (my openers are pretty light, taking no chances).

Re: Random crap
Yeah that pause on the bench is a surprise the first time. And the next, and the next.

Kenny wear a stiletto heel for benching, that'll fix the whole heels-on-the-ground issue
