I saw four Cattle Egrets at work today. ... First time I've seen that species in PA.

I stopped at Quittie Creek Nature Park after work on Tuesday. While I was there, I saw eastern phoebes, robins, catbirds, starlings, cardinals, grackles, Baltimore orioles, a cottontail, 3 painted turtles, 4 water snakes, a bullfrog, ebony jewelwings, a silver-spotted skipper, a viceroy butterfly and a red-spotted purple.

After that I drove to Union Canal Tunnel Park where I saw mallards, robins, catbirds, an eastern towhee, a chipmunk, painted turtles, red-eared sliders, largemouth bass, bluegills, pumpkinseeds and common green darners.

While driving to the gym today I saw two kids running across a field near Route 322. One was carrying a bright pink leash. My first thought was that a dog got out. Then I saw them ... two donkeys running toward to road. I slowed nearly to a stop only to have two cars swerve around me and keep right on going oblivious. Fortunately the donkeys turned away before reaching the road.
