A little question

I have been lifting for a while and have put on a decent amount of muscle, more than i want now. i have switched my workout to doing lighter weight with more reps so that i don't build anymore but was wondering if there is a way to continue lifting and lose a little muscle mass. or would i have to stop lifting all together to achieve this?
