Front Plank

Post by liaemars » Sat Jul 14, 2018 5:08 am

I realize the side plank targets the quadratus lumborum, but does the front plank still target this muscle to some significant degree? Thanks in advance guys!

Activated with other muscles when pelvis elevates when standing on one leg and position of body relative to gravity is altered (as when standing on wobble board). Initially assists in rotation to neutral position only when waist is initially significantly rotated.

Lateral Flexion
Right Lateral flexion [Right Quadratus Lumborum]
Left Lateral flexion [Left Quadratus Lumborum]
Rotation (from rotation to neutral position)
Stabilizes pelvis and lumbar spine
This would suggest that you need an asymmetrical load to stimulate this muscle more than superficially.

Yes front plank helped to lose belly fat especially lower belly fat as you know this fat is very stubborn and its a problem to lose it. If you do 3 sets of 20s every day you can easily get rid of it rapidly. My friend told me that how she lose bally fat by this routine now she looks like a hot slim girl in spite of 3 kids. Impressive?
