I've concentrated on doing the big barbell exercises for all my sessions: squat, deadlift, bench press and lately I've added overhead press and bent over row.
I've added the BO row because I had read in another discussion all those pushing exercises need to be balanced with pulling exercises AND all those barbell exercises neglect the back. If I listen to everybody's advice all the time, my gym sessions of four major exercises can balloon to eight or more since there are many areas of the back to target.
