Hi guys!
I was wondering whether we really need to take water-soluble vitamins every day. If we really lose them when we pee, that would mean that we aren't able to live without food for more than a week perhaps. But we can see that many people go on a food strike and they are able to live for a lengthy period and they wouldn't be able to do that without those water-soluble vitamins.
What do you think, do we really need them?
Water-soluble vitamins every day?

Water-soluble vitamins every day?
I apologize to everyone I've enraged. I'll try to correct myself.

No, I don't think you need them as long as you eat a predominantly whole food diet with a reasonable amount of vegetables.

Re: Water-soluble vitamins every day?
Stu, what do you think, how much can we do without them but without sacrificing our health? I tried to find some studies, but I couldn't find any. But from what I've heard those that go on a food strike for a month can ruin their bodies for the rest of their life.
And because this is connected, what do you think could we eat plants every, let's say, fifth day and be healthy or...
I'm asking this because I think that they want to make us believe that our bodies are much weaker than they really are.

Re: Water-soluble vitamins every day?
I think you should eat vegetables and fruit every day, ideally every meal. If you don't you should consider vitamins. Some people don't, and it is possible to get most of what you need from animal sources but I think that extreme diets are only suited for those in extreme circumstances.

Re: Water-soluble vitamins every day?
imho, vitamins are really important specially Vit c and zinc to fight flu and colds
Re: Water-soluble vitamins every day?
https://examine.com/supplements/vitamin-c/
"An athlete supplementing vitamin C, on the other hand, can expect to cut the risk of getting a cold in half." I think that's important.
https://examine.com/supplements/zinc/
"In regards to the common cold and infections, the rate of catching sickness with daily supplementation of zinc in persons who may be deficient is reduced." It doesn't hurt but less important than Vit C.
